Programs that enable individuals with disabilities, people who abuse drugs or alcohol, or people who have emotional problems to obtain the training and employment experiences they need to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Services may include vocational evaluation, work adjustment, work experience, training in marketable skills and placement in competitive employment or a sheltered work environment.
Assists individuals with mental health diagnoses to obtain and maintain employment. Services focus on helping job seekers identify their strengths, skills, and interests, and assists them to find satisfying employment. Ongoing personal support is offered throughout the job search process and continues after the job starts for as long as necessary.
Wayne ARC advocates for and serves persons of all ages with or without special needs. Senior Community Services Employment Program, is a Federally funded program which matches mature workers with local employment opportunities that offer part-time on-the-job training positions to qualified individuals who are looking for: Flexible hours; opportunities to gain new job skills; personal and professional growth; opportunities to work with others, and training in a supportive environment. To help you re-enter the work force, the employment program staff will: review basic job search skills; provide on-the-job-training; assist in upgrading your skills, and value your years of experience. To qualify, you must be 55 years or older, meet Federal income guidelines and be an Albany County resident.
