Provides advocacy to allow our clients to access services and entitlement programs. The WHC works closely with the County Section 8 Office and translates for clients when interviewing. Benefits advocacy at the local Department of Social Services is also provided to clients on an ongoing basis. Also aids clients in regards to discrimination or wage recovery situations with employers. Call for details
The Ombudsman Program is an advocacy program that protects the health, safety, welfare, and civil rights of people living in nursing homes and adult care facilities. Certified Ombudsmen advocate for residents’ rights and ensure that their unmet needs and complaints are resolved.

Welcome to Child Abuse Prevention Services (CAPS), Long Island’s leading non-profit dedicated to the prevention of bullying, child abuse and neglect, and the only volunteer organization that works directly with children and youth in New York’s Nassau and Suffolk elementary, middle and high schools.
The Society helps people affected by MS by funding cutting-edge research, driving change through advocacy, facilitating professional education, and providing programs and services that help people with MS and their families move their lives forward.
Advocacy Training for parents and families encourages families to become active, informed decision makers on behalf of their family and child/children with disabilities. We are subcontracted thru the Rochester Advocacy Center to provide Parent Training Information Center Workshops which includes such topics as: Being a team member, Assertiveness, Locating and evaluating services, networking, Navigating the system, and more.
Workshops are free and open to the public.

The Parkinson's Disease Foundation operates the Parkinson's Information Service, (PINS), which offers education and support to people with Parkinson's, their families, caregivers and healthcare professionals with a "one-stop shop" for Parkinson's Disease. Educational materials available by request or via website for downloading.
The Living Healthy Program, operated by RSVP, is a six week workshop to educate caregivers and older adults about living with chronic conditions.
