Financial need-based program that provides ground travel assistance to medical appointments over 50 miles away in the form of gas cards, bus and train tickets at no cost to patient. Requires a minimum of 10 business days notification and verification of appointment and financial need. This program covers residents in all 50 states. Funding is very limited, so not every request is approved. Donations are welcome and tax deductible.
Operating seven days a week, our East Side Transportation Program provides escorted rides to our senior clients in order to meet the transportation needs identified by seniors, staff and our partners in the East Side senior service community. We transport our senior clients in our two accessible buses (maximum capacity of 18, or 14 with 4 wheelchairs) to our two Senior Centers, our social adult day program at the Center @ Lenox Hill Neighborhood House and weekend cultural and recreational trips that we plan and support.
Programs operate Monday through Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm. The congregate meal program is offered Monday through Friday from 12:00pm-1:00pm, with a suggested contribution of $1.50. This site also offers transportation services
Caring connections is offered to individuals and families who are struggling to meet their basic needs. finiancial assistance can include: assistance with utilities including electric shut offs, housing assistance, transportation assistance and assistance with paying for essential medical costs.
Must be a Veteran enrolled in a VA Health VA Health Care System. Do not have to be disabled. Must have an appointment at Bath VA or connect with Veteran's Transportation System (VTS) for out of region medical appointments. No oxygen or wheelchair accommodations. Runs out of Elmira to surrounding VA clinics.
Northern Tioga Neighbors Network offers transportation to the grocery store, doctor appointments, and/or the pharmacy.

Program helps HIV positive individuals without reliable transportation identify transportation obstacles and develop solutions to gain access to health and wellness providers. Call 607-798-1721.
The Brooklyn Chinese-American Association (BCA) operates four senior centers across southern Brooklyn to accommodate the Asian senior population. BCAÆs senior centers have developed into common meeting places where seniors find companionship and engage in a variety of activities. Their Avenue U Senior Center offers the following services and activities to seniors: congregate meals are served five days a week, assistance in applying for entitlements, health and nutrition workshops, free medical screenings and examinations, singing and dancing classes, Chinese cultural dance and Chinese opera classes, aerobics and fitness classes, educational programs, and monthly birthday parties and holiday celebrations. Trusted Friends provide in-home care workers to help older adults maintain independence and live comfortably in their homes. With background checks conducted, qualification training and insured employees, Trusted Friends allows their client to feel at ease with receiving assistance in the home. Services include:
