SCAT provides curb-to-curb transportation and will pick up/drop off between any two points in Suffolk County within 3/4 mile of a Suffolk County Transit or HART bus route. All types of trips may be requested, including social, recreational, medical, work or shopping trips. Trip reservations are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. Call for more information.

Who May Ride: Town of New Scotland residents 62+

Description: Curb-to curb service provides rides within 15 miles of New Scotland Town Hall in the following priority: medical, geriatric daycare, therapy appointments, groceries, hair appointments, and voting. No transportation to employment or religious services. The Town also sponsors a number of trips, programs, and outings.

Service Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm.

Can Accommodate: Wheelchairs, service animals, people with limited or no vision. Please bring an aide to assist you.

To Schedule: Reservations can be made by calling the Senior Outreach Coordinator at 518-439-9038, Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3pm. Please leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

Fees: This program relies on volunteer drivers and donations from riders. No fee is charged; a suggested donation is $5 each way for out-of-town trips and a few dollars each way within town. If you do not have the means, you will never be denied a ride.

Northern Tioga Neighbors Network offers transportation to the grocery store, doctor appointments, and/or the pharmacy.

Who May Ride: No restrictions.

Description: Bedside-to-bedside medical transportation with a minimum distance of 200 miles. Service includes shifting and turning,

personal needs such as cleaning, maintaining a catheter, and prescribed medications. A state to state medical transport only.

Service hours: anytime.

Can Accommodate: Wheelchairs, service animals, people with limited or no vision, people with dementia.

To Schedule: Schedule ahead as much as possible but 24 hours is required.

Southern Tier Medi-van is wheelchair and gurney equipped. Specializes in transportation services for those on stretchers and with mobility aids. Accepts cash or credit as payment. Discounts are available. Charge for service is based on amount of travel involved. Provides transport anywhere. Door through door service.

We have volunteers who provide transportation for some medical appointments for people ages 60 and older. We also have contracts with the following towns to provide regularly scheduled transportation services to their residents age 60 and older: Chestertown, Hague, Horicon, Johnsburg, Lake George, Lake Luzerne, Lake Pleasant, Long Lake, Stony Creek, Thurman, Warrensburg, and Wells.

HAT Operates 5 Public Routes daily, including some weekend service:

One "Inner City" Service for the City of Hornell

Runs to the town of Alfred, Almond, Bath, Canaseraga, Canisteo, Cohocton, Dansville and Wayland

Vega has provided service for more than twenty years including medical transportation and premium limousine service.Vehicles are customized with wheel chair lifts, high top roofs and doors, special suspension, front and rear air conditioning, wheel chair locks, and our newest ambulettes have a TV with DVD player. Vega specializes in multilingual drivers to care for our New York City friends and neighbors. We speak Spanish, Chinese, Russian, and Korean. In addition, our drivers must pass a rigorous 2 day training course in vehicle safety and passenger care and courtesy.
