Medicaid Waiver/Community Recreation - Recreation programs provide activities in the community for both adults and teens with developmental disabilities. The programs are designed to educate individuals of various recreational opportunities that exist in the community while at the same time helping them to meet new people, develop friendships, and have fun! Each program fosters the development of social skills, helps to promote independence, and provides opportunities for community inclusion.Recreation for Teens and Adults
The Medicaid Waiver Respite program is designed to provide short term respite for family members of individuals with developmental disabilities. Individuals must be 13 years of age or older and live in a non-certified residence (such as with a family member) in Onondaga County. Some of the activities that individuals have been involved in are dances, movie making classes, acting with The Red House Arts Center and much, much more! Transportation to and from events is provided for most activities.
