The Early Intervention Program provides services to developmentally delayed or disabled children between birth and three years of age. If eligible, the child can receive physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, special instruction, vision services, social work, psychological services, audiological services, nutrition services, and service coordination, as well as several other services depending on the individual needs of the child.A child who has an approved disability or who has a qualifying delay is eligible to receive services through the Early Intervention Program. Licensed specialists that contract with Sullivan County Public Health Services and that are approved by the New York State Department of Health Bureau of Early Intervention will provide the child with the therapies necessary to help him/her reach age appropriate developmental levels. These services can be provided in any safe environment. The child is reassessed every 6 months and the services are adjusted to meet the changing needs of the child.
